The Chinese department was established in 1961 from then on the Chinese government sent one professional Chinese teacher here. Now a days, more and more Nepalese want to learn Chinese, so in 2012 the Chinese government sent one more Chinese teacher here. This year, we add one more Chinese teacher again. So far, in Chinese department, we have three Chinese teachers and three Nepali teachers who are teaching Chinese. All of these teachers are good at teaching Chinese. Even the Nepalese teachers have learned Chinese in China and stayed in China for a long time. So we have a very powerful teaching team.

In Chinese department has six semesters more existed. First semester six classes, Second semester has two and others have one class. The total numbers of students about 400.

Now, we using the book named ‘New practical Chinese’. This set series book has six volumes. It’s very popular in the worlds and was translated into nine languages. In others countries, it also to be used in BA class. So in our department, one semester use on volume. It is a perfect match.

Students who graduate from this department, they have big chianese to apply for the Chinese cenfucious scholarship if they pass the hsk and hskk. Some students to be food tour guide, Chinese teachers and businessman.
